February News

February news~ mostly watching baby William grow and get bigger each day (courtesy of Jayna's blog!). We just try to stay warm and avoid getting the flu that everyone has. The past 5 days it has snowed off and on. That's what we get for taking off the skid steer chains. That darn groundhog was wrong! We did have a nice surprise last Wed. when Doug and Wanda stopped by. Dan was at the church setting up for a funeral for the next day, when they arrived. We talked awhile and then went to the Longhorn for dinner. My house was a disaster (sorry guys!) I had gone Visiting Teaching in the morning and then had Movie Day in the afternoon. I hadn't even got to the dishes. The whole house is dusty - a constant battle here with dirt roads and a woodstove. Dan had gone to Lowman in the morning so nobody had been home to do anything. How can only two people mess up a house so much? This is one of life's great mysteries. If anyone knows how to solve this, please let me know. My mom continues to do well. So far so good. She said she is feeling better than she has for a long time so that is wonderful! We'll take it. I have so much news on the dad front, I hardly know where to begin. Dad's defibrillator went off a bunch of times in one day and Florence thought dad was doing handstands. But she remembered that the Dr. had told her that if dad went 'down' to call 911 and so she did. A real miracle considering. Dad spent a few days in the hospital (not sure what they did - I couldn't get a Dr. to call me back) and then was released into an adult foster care home. Florence had been taken there when dad went into the hospital. It was arranged for dad to go there too. FINALLY we had dad in a safe, and wonderful place with a staff to cook and care for him! We were all excited to have found such a wonderful place and that he and Florence could be together in their own apt like room. The lady who runs it is so nice. Sadly I got a call from her 2 days later saying she was sorry but they just couldn't keep my dad. I was buying groceries with Lila when I got the call. They said my dad wanted out of there and he was cussing and hitting the workers. She said they would have to call the cops if someone didn't come and get him right away. I was shocked. Now what? Why couldn't you behave dad? I called Justin to see if he could possibly come and get dad (now at the ER waiting room since Florence had collapsed from all the excitement and they had to take her to the hospital and dad went with her). Justin said he would go get dad and take him home. Now what? Dad cannot live alone. Justin and Heather decide they will clean up the house and move in and take care of dad. Another miracle! They have spent the last 10 days cleaning and scrubbing and painting the house within an inch of it's life. ALL the furniture will be hauled to the dump. Dad is still ranting and raving about getting a lawyer and springing Florence from 'the nut house'. He even walked to Justin's house (several miles - no coat) in the middle of the night demanding his car keys. Justin just happened to hear him shouting because he had fallen down in his driveway and couldn't get up. Luckily dad wasn't hurt. He continues to rant and rave but is starting to accept that Florence is not coming home nor can he see her again. He tried to visit her but the police were called in to escort him away. It's really sad since he and Florence consider themselves married. I'm really surprised at how much stress my father is handling. I really though he would have had another stroke or heart attack from it. Another miracle! Stand by for news - it changes on a daily basis. Our snow pictures from yesterday.

anyone want a cat?

We gave her to a friend here in GV, but she found her way back to us!
